Cubs vs. Phillies MLB Pick – August 13th

The Philadelphia Phillies are back home after a difficult weekend against the San Francisco Giants around the west coast. The Phillies dropped three of four games. Bryce Harper had fun telling fans to be quiet after a clutch home run into their only win, but three of four losses would be not anything to get excited about. And that’s been the issue with Bryce this season, he would appear and knock out a clutch hit once a month. That is not enough to get a guy getting his pay. We’re entering clutch year, so ideally for the Phillies, the best is yet to come with Harper. Like I have mentioned before, when he catches flame and contributes the Phillies to a deep postseason run, all will soon be forgotten due to his earlier conflicts. If Harper was playing well all year, the Phillies are probably threatening that the Braves right now. I’d need ten hands to count the number of times he has had an opportunity to break up a match open and he drops short. Pitching wins games in the postseason. Everyone knows that and Bryce and his 330 million-dollar contract has to counter this. In any case, the Phillies only have to be worried about getting to the postseason. The Phillies aren’t going to the postseason if the Wild Card Game was now. They are just two games back, using the afternoon off yesterday so that they were not going to improve. The Nationals and Cardinals are holding onto leads. It is still anybody’s branch now. Even the Diamondbacks who traded their genius away are in the mix. That does not speak to how great the middle of this National League is. It has been fairly awful and the only complete team from the NL to speak of was the Dodgers. The Phillies welcome a Cubs team That Are beneath the NL Central by 2 games on the Cardinals. Philadelphia is the second stop on their road trip after a separation in Cincinnati against the Reds. Head below for our complimentary Cubs vs. Phillies pick. Betting odds offered by bovada.lv The Cubs acquired some positive news on Sunday with all the attempt by Jon Lester. He showed up and pitched a good game to get out of a funk. Lester was fighting mightily and that may be a step in the perfect direction for him. He was able to greatest ace Luis Castillo and lead the Cubs to a 6-3 win. A split for your Cubs on the road is an improvement. Considering that they have a record of 23-35 around the street, .500 is much better than their general campaign as a visitor this season. The Cubs will be on the street for another six matches before going back to Wrigley. They expect to not just win three more matches, however. Jose Quintana will likely be tasked with leading the pitching staff for the Cubs that evening. He enters with a respectable ERA of both all 4.23 in 129.2 innings. That is on pace for his profession, so no surprises in Quintana. He has enabled 5 home runs and 15 runs contrary to the Phillies at 139 at-bats. Quintana was slightly worse pitching in the road, posting a 4.34 ERA along with 1.41 WHIP around the street. His latest showing contrary to the Phillies has been a victory in a 3-2 win, but that was at Wrigley Field. Former New York Met, Jason Vargas will look to settle in for the Phillies. Vargas was the sole member who ended up becoming moved after all of those rumors . No Wheeler or Syndergaard, but only Vargas. He was eloquent in his introduction with the Phillies, allowing 2 runs contrary to the White Sox at 6.1 innings in the home. It was a different story for him on the road against the Diamondbacks at Arizona, as he had been hit 4 runs in five innings. Vargas has performed better at home at 2019, posting a 2.92 ERA and 1.18 WHIP as opposed to a 5.23 ERA and 1.33 WHIP on the street. The Phillies as a group are better at home with a record of 34-26. Philadelphia are one of the very cold and hot teams from the majors. Adhering to the display they put on San Francisco, the public will likely be on the Cubs here. This is the Phillies, however, and they look like a different team series-to-series. I am on the Phillies as small dwelling dogs Tuesday night.
