Keenum, McCoy or Haskins? Odds on Which QB Will Start Week 1 for the Redskins

Despite being supposed to become one of the worst teams in the NFL at 2019, the Washington Redskins have some major decisions to make when it has to do with the quarterback position. With Week two of the NFL preseason upon usoddsmakers have released props where guy will make the starting quarterback position once the normal season arrives. BetOnline is dealing Case Keenum since the +100 preferred to be the beginning in Week 1, with Colt McCoy (+200) and Dwayne Haskins (+250) because the underdogs. Even the’Skins regular-season OVER/UNDER win total was set at 6.5 at the shop. Washington head coach Jay Gruden has a huge choice on his hands. Gruden, who is Recorded As The Fave are the first coach fired this season, hasn’t made any announcements as to which person will find the starting job, but seeing Keenum since the likeliest player to do this is logical. According to The Washington Post, Keenum is”probably the Redskins’ starting quarterback for the time being.” Keenum was traded to the Redskins out of Denver in the offseason after an underwhelming campaign together with the Broncos in which he drove for 18 touchdowns and also 3,890 yards along with 15 interceptions. He seems like the one, although keenum won’t be regarded as the most attractive alternative under center for Redskins fans. McCoy has been handed the reins of the beginning job last year following Alex Smith suffered a barbarous season-ending leg accident, yet the Texas product suffered a season-ending injury of his own only a couple weeks following Smith’s. The 32-year-old has been using the Redskins since 2014 and knows the offense better than the other signal-callers on the roster, so don’t be surprised it Gruden chooses to proceed with McCoy from the gate. It’s likely going to be a very long season in D.C., which means Haskins likely won’t be hurried into action. The Redskins appeared to find a sneak by choosing Haskins using the No. 15 pick at the 2019 NFL Draft, however, the former Ohio State standout struggled in his first preseason action. Haskins completed 8 of 14 passes for 117 yards in his debut against Cleveland but was intercepted twice. Haskins is famous for his strong hands and poise under stress, and he’s already seen as the quarterback of the future for the club. However, together with Keenum and McCoy in the fold, this makes more sense of Haskins to watch from the sidelines for the first few weeks of the year. The Redskins may easily be from emptiness. With tough games against the Eagles, Cowboys, Bears and Patriots in four out of their first five months, Haskins is better off to the bench. If Washington is out of playoff contention soon afterwards, providing Haskins a shot later on could be the best plan of action.
