LOSER GOES HOME: BRANDON THATCH VS ERICK SILVA RUMORED FOR SEPTEMBER
In a meeting with MMA OddsBreaker’s James Lynch, UFC welterweight Bojan Velickovic revealed that his coaching partner, former RFA welterweight champion Brandon”Ruckus” Thatch has been booked to take on Brazil’s Erick Silva. There’s no official date and location for its fight booking, along with the bout has not been officially declared, however, Velickovic did say that it is in September, so one would suppose that could be September 24th’s UFC Fight Night 95 at Silva’s backyard of Brasilia, Brazil. The two 170-pounders have their backs against the wall heading into this competition, as Thatch is coming off three consecutive losses, being completed by rear naked choke entry in three of these and Silva is coming off a pair of defeats himself, most recently a vicious knockout in the hands of Nordine Taleb. This is a small surprise match-up, as many guessed there was a decent possibility both welterweights are receiving their walking papers from the promotion following their most recent excursions inside the Octagon. The UFC has however decided that one of these should stick about, and at a marketing where some fighters get cut after one loss, these welterweights are fortunate. The two Thatch and Silva have seemed to be about a decrease in recent bouts, therefore it’s going to be interesting to see how they will appear against each other once they square off this September. 1 fighter’s UFC narrative will continue, while the one who tastes conquer will likely be inching closer to some Bellator contract, even when it would probably serve him better to just hang up the gloves for good. Silva stands out of Kings MMA CA under the tutelage of Master Rafael Cordeiro, in Huntington Beach. Thatch and Velickovic struggle from Evolution Fight Team in Denver, CO.. Velickovic faced former American Top Team training spouse Michael Graves in the featured bout for the UFC Fight Pass prelims for UFC 201 final evening with his departure causing a majority draw.
